Children don’t always fit neatly into one assessment category. Concerns about Autism, attention, learning, cognitive ability or giftedness can overlap, and exploring these areas together can sometimes provide a clearer understanding of your child’s overall profile.
Our combined assessment pathways allow us to build on information already gathered, reduce unnecessary duplication and bring findings together within one coordinated assessment process.
More than the core assessment.
Where clinically appropriate, we can include additional screening and questionnaires to better understand your child’s broader profile and everyday functioning.

These additional measures do not necessarily form a separate diagnostic assessment. Instead, they help us build a more complete clinical picture and provide more individualised recommendations for home, school and everyday life.

*For children under 6, ADHD-related characteristics can still be considered as part of an Autism assessment, with practical strategies and recommendations provided where relevant. Blue Door Psychology provides formal ADHD diagnosis from 6 years of age.

When additional testing is needed, we can combine assessment components into one coordinated pathway. This allows us to build on information already gathered, reduce duplication and offer more streamlined pricing than completing each assessment separately.

What about ADHD?
ADHD screening is already included within our Autism and psychoeducational assessments where clinically appropriate. A Comprehensive ADHD Assessment may be recommended when more detailed ADHD-specific assessment is needed.

For children where ADHD requires more detailed assessment beyond the screening that may already be incorporated within an Autism assessment.

A note on assessment inclusions.
Transparent costs matter to us, and we aim to make pricing clear from the outset. In most cases, the quoted fee includes all components needed to complete the assessment.
Occasionally, additional areas of concern may become clearer as we gather information. If the psychologist believes further testing would be helpful to ensure an accurate and thorough understanding, we’ll talk this through with you first. Any additional recommendations and associated fees (if applicable) will always be discussed with you upfront, so you can decide whether you’d like to proceed.
